What is an Emotional Health Advocate?
In today’s world, there is a great emphasis placed on healthy living. Fad diets, fitness trackers, body cleanses, skincare advice, and sleep aids seem limitless, but not a lot is mentioned about emotional health. As an advocate for emotional health, I believe that our emotional health is the single most important aspect of our health and wellbeing, in fact, I believe it underpins most, if not all, of the origins of our ill-health, body issues, mental health issues, and personal suffering. Learning how to maintain and bolster our own emotional health has not traditionally been a priority in the health care system or even in our day-to-day lives. Yet your emotional health is absolutely key to achieving a full and balanced life and an area that should not be ignored. We are not taught how to be emotionally healthy. In fact, our emotional education and strategies are usually acquired through the drama and trauma we experience in our life, I want to change that.
My name is Tanis McRae and I am an emotional health advocate based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. After about 20 years of teaching in a traditional classroom setting, I began to explore the process of expanding my consciousness and self-awareness. In doing so, I became so inspired by my own personal results that I am now dedicated to teaching others how to consciously create their lives and develop and maintain their own emotional health as well.
So what is an emotional health advocate?
First, an advocate is defined as “a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy.” Therefore: an emotional health advocate is someone who supports your emotional health, either by advocating for you or mentoring you in self-advocacy. Through my work as an emotional health advocate, I take all the tools I have learned in my own process - and from helping others - and use them to help you free yourself to experience and express yourself as the amazing soul/human that you already are. I am a mentor and a cheerleader for your self-advocacy. I live and love the process of my own personal expansion and transformation. That dedication to my own transformative experience allows me to meet you where you are right now in your process and assist you with your own personal journey into Self.
As an intuitive healer, I have witnessed again and again how all emotional pain leads to suffering. Both personal and societal issues arise from this unresolved internal suffering, I would even be so bold as to say that all unresolved personal pain can be attributed to all the human atrocities we have visited upon one another. That is why it is imperative that we find ways to uncover the root cause of our own emotional pain and trauma. Only from there can you break the personal pattern of pain and suffering in your life.
If you choose to work with me, I will gently and firmly guide you in your healing process, mentor you to begin to self-advocate, help you break down walls that are impeding your health, and support you in continuing to create and live your best life.
There are several avenues to facilitating emotional health. You can learn about them all on my Work With Tanis page and find what type of connection you think will provide you with the most benefit. My workshops are meant to create and maintain independent growth and evolvement and provide you with the tools and information needed to heal and evolve your Self. They encourage you to become the creator of your life. To be able to consciously choose who you are in every experience, rather than allow that experience to define you. Each one focuses on the tools you can use to go within and transform trauma, pain, beliefs, or patterns that stop you from moving forward in your life.
